We were told that it rained for two weeks and that many sessions were cancelled before us. While we were driven up onto the Skippers Canyon and down to the river, it was still raining and we were given several serious warnings...I’m a competent swimmer but when the guide says to everyone ‘you need to be an “Olympic” swimmer’, I thought I should be fine since I’ve done white water rafting before and I was fine...Anyway I ended up falling into the “worst part” and almost drowned, I was semi-conscious by the time I was pulled out of the water and there was no other way back but to get back onto the raft and continue on. Overall, I’m glad I did it and came out alive but I will never do it again. In saying that, thank you to the guides for an epic ride.
