Discover the beauty of Green Island on Great Barrier Reef as you take an epic full day expedition with Big Cat.
This exciting expedition departs Cairns, taking you on a relaxing 45 minute journey from the mainland to Green Island, a coral cay on the reef.
Upon arrival you'll have the day to explore this stunning island, including the tropical rainforest and surrounding reef. If you're feeling adventurous, take your pick from a number of walking trails and boardwalks throughout the island and get up close to the natural environment this island is known for.
You'll also have the option to add on water based extras. Explore the majestic underwater world by self guided snorkel, or see the reef from up above on board a glass bottom boat. You will save if pre purchased at checkout, or purchase on the day of travel subject to availability.

A Top Day!
We had a smooth trip with smiling attentive crew to a magical place! Green Island offers day trippers so much! Food, swimming pool, and a patrolled sandy beach as well as a variety of snorkeling experiences. Not to mention the beautiful turtles ❤️

Amazing experience
Me and my husband had such an amazing day trip. The Crew was 100% available for us. The fact they lend us the stinger suit cause now is jellyfish season made me feel very safe. The boat is very comfortable and the air con very refreshing. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great day at Green Island. We saw so many fishes and turtles, was just perfect

Timing
The Island is beautiful, but the ferry was very slow, we arrive at 10:30 and we need to come back to the boat at 3:45. Around 5 hours in the island I would not call it a full day trip. Apologize for giving 3 stars but this trip should finish at 4:30 if it's expected to arrive at 10:30. Like others companies does. So that would made around 6 hours in the island, much better.

Green island
OMG. If you don’t do anything else this is a must do. We thought Fitzroy island was good. But this is spectacular. Also the staff on the boat couldn’t be more informed and helpful.

Green island ferry and outer island snorkel.
The staff are fantastic..so friendly and super helpful. Harry and Andrieous are such lovely people. So are the rest of the staff. Fantastic the boat stayed at the Island for the day so we couks go back for coffee a rest and lunch. Harry and Andrieous look at TikTok 'ourbackyardnz" to see more fishing experiences my son has done in NZ. Thank you so much for a wonderful trip. Loved the outer reef snorkel with marine biologist Andre. Sorry don't know how to spell your name. Thank to all three if you who came out on the snorkel trip with us. Such awesome freindly people.
