Awesome experience
John is great- he provides good advice, allows for flexibility and has a great sense if humour. I definitely recommend this way of seeing the Yarra valley wineries, gineries and breweries.

This is a brilliantly organised day out. John the owner and our driver for the day was absolutely such a lovely guy with the perfect personality for informing everyone about the region and very chatty and interested in the group. Totally genuine and such good value for money, loved it!

Unprofessional Driver Ruined the Experience
We booked this hop-on, hop-off bus as a last-minute activity with friends. The website stated we could choose venues on the day, but the driver insisted we needed to book in advance, only informing us by berating us in front of the group. When I asked for recommendations, he dismissively said, “This isn’t an Uber service,” and refused to help. However, the venues had availability, making his response feel unnecessarily harsh. His unprofessionalism left us stressed the whole day, afraid of upsetting him further. The wineries were excellent, but the driver’s behavior significantly impacted our enjoyment.

Our goal is to provide a flexible and enjoyable way to explore the wine regions, and we regret that there was any confusion on the day. To ensure guests have the best experience, we clearly state on our website—and in multiple reminder emails and text messages—that most venues require reservations. This is to help guests secure spots at their preferred stops, as many wineries have limited availability. We understand that this may not have been what you expected. Regarding your interaction with our driver, we want to clarify that our routes are designed to follow set loops, which means we aren’t able to make stops outside of those routes. We understand that you requested stops outside of the set loop on the day. Our service is different from a taxi or rideshare, and while our drivers are happy to assist with recommendations within the route, they aren’t able to change the itinerary on the spot. However, we do apologise if this was not communicated in a more helpful and professional manner, and we will be addressing this internally. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve both our communication and service. The only way to travel to the Yarra Valley!
The only way to travel to the Yarra Valley - Hop to It!! This was the second tour, on back-to-back days we did with Hop It, and it did not disappoint. This time we had the benefit of having one of the owners of the company, Jon, drive us on their “hop on hop off tour” which was an almost private tour as there were only 2 couples on this day-long tour! Jon efficiently communicated via text message in order to keep us on schedule and when possible, allowed us extra time at the wineries. He had water on offer, storage for our purchases, and a killer playlist!! Plus, he was a most engaging host - it was immediately obvious how much he enjoys talking with his guests and sharing his knowledge of the wines and wineries around Melbourne. I wish we could clone Jon and his wife Sara (who was super helpful in helping us with a few recommendations and reservations) and have them run their professional yet relaxed operation across every wine region in the world!! We look forward to doing their tour again the next time we find ourselves in Melbourne!

Fantastic day out in the yarravalley. Sara our driver was amazing and the day ran perfect. Highly recommended.
