Embark on a 3-hour, 40km return adventure aboard a meticulously restored C17 steam train!
Starting at the Historic Gympie Station, the train will travel through lush agricultural landscapes, winding your way into the serene heart of the Mary Valley.
Upon reaching the charming village of Amamoor, step off the train to watch the engine turn on a traditional turntable. Take a moment to explore the picturesque Amamoor Village Green before reboarding your carriage for the scenic return trip to Gympie Station.
Throughout the journey, knowledgeable volunteer guides share fascinating historical insights about the train and the region, allowing you to savour the nostalgia of a bygone era.

good trip on the old steam train,all the old memribilia at both stations were great.all the volunteers were great and very helpful.the scone maker might need to put some more binding in the scones very crummy and hard to eat.the sound system in our carridge was very low so couldnt hear the ladies commentary which was a bit disappointing.but overall good way to fill in 3 or 4 hours when in gympie

Mary valley rattler
I absolutely had a wonderful time on the Mary Valley Rattler on Sunday. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. Volunteers were so friendly and helpful. Cafe and gift shop were I bought Postcards from was so clean and tidy. Loved the adventure. Amamoor town was beautiful.
