Come along for an intimate ride alongside the most majestic mammals of the ocean. We will start our tour at King Street Wharf #3 where you will board the boat. On our way to experience the annual humpback whale migration, we will pass the world-famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera house. Our knowledgeable crew will tell you all the facts about the harbour & its whaling history.
Our custom-built boat has viewing along both sides so you can see everything and be within arm's reach of the water. We only take a small intimate group to create the best experience for all on board. We will get you up close and personal with the whales for an experience that will become a lifelong memory!

Wonderful small boat whale watching experience
We are Sydney residents for many years but this was our first whale watching trip. There are so many companies to choose from but we were very glad we selected Whale Tales with their smaller boat and many previous positive reviews. Mette's expert commentary plus skipper Alex (Kelso) and photographer Alex made a great team. Their whale knowledge is exceptional. Example photos attached. Thanks again and we will be back to observe the return migration in August/September. P.S We were very fortunate because we found a pair of humpbacks we followed for about an hour. The morning trip had found no whales, so you still need a bit of luck!! However they always give you a free return trip if no whales are observed.🙂

Enjoyable & informative. Saw many whales. Great to be in a small boat rather than with 200 other passengers!!

Awesome afternoon
Fun hosts, fast boat, great views of sydney harbour, plenty of humpbacks. The wharf is next to the impressive Crown building and Barangaroo foreshore area which is really impressive too.

Best Experience
I have done 3 whale watching tours with other operators but never before did I experience so close encounter with the whales.
