Join Active Tropics Explorer for a day trip to Cape Tribulation from Cairns, where the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests meets the Great Barrier Reef.
Join us for a day trip to Cape Tribulation, where the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests meets the world’s greatest living tropical reef, the Great Barrier Reef. This is the only place on the planet where two natural World Heritage listed sites exist side by side. Such is the natural beauty and precious value of this, We give you ample time to explore this truly stunning piece of paradise on this full day tour
We begin the adventure with a scenic coastal drive from Cairns to Mossman. This is the far north’s very own version of the Great Ocean Road, providing panoramic views over the sparkling Coral Sea!
Heading north our first stop is at Mossman Gorge, which is in the southern sectorof the world famous Daintree National Park. This gorge has been carved out by the cold mountain waters of Mossman River. It's a magical place and you'll particpate in a "Welcome to Country" with the traditional owners.
Next, it’s time to explore this ancient rainforest environment on an interesting, guided tour of the Mossman Gorge. Our highly trained guides will give expert rainforest interpretation, which will inform and impress. Be amazed at the huge diversity you will encounter, everything from low lying ferns and shrubs to the massive rainforest canopy.
There is an opportunity for you to enjoy a refreshing swim in the cascading waters.
Continuing north we stop in Daintree Village for lunch. Next you will join a Wildlife Cruise on the Daintree River where you might see a crocodile, while learning about the fragile ecosystem of this impressive serpent-like river system.
You are now on the north side on the Daintree River where our guide will meet you for you next stop. We head to Thornton’s Beach – where the rainforest meets the reef. Enjoy the beautiful views of the lower ranges of Thornton Peak.
Pending time we will stop at – the Daintree Ice Cream Co – where you can enjoy deliciously exotic fruit ice cream made on site, in small artisan style batches. Yum! [At own cost.]
Then it’s back on to the bus for the return journey to Cairns, including a quick drive through Port Douglas, a picturesque beachside village with a laid-back vibe and loads of bars and cafes.
We visited very nice places and did a lot of activities in the same day, at first I thought this tour was expensive but in the end I think it is worth it! If you are lucky enough to have the guide Zambo (I don't know how to spell it), you will have a better experience! He is very friendly and knows the jungle and its surroundings very well, so he was definitely an asset on the tour. thank you!
This was a great day in the rainforest. We actually got to see a cassowary in the bush. Ourguide, Brandon, was super funny and great. I wished we had more time at mossman but it was a taste of everything in one day, I suppose.
While I loved our guide and he was giving his best to make the tour enjoyable by providing lots of info while driving, I didn’t feel like the day was worth it. We spent quite some time driving for not a lot of time with activities. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take advantage of the beach because of the tide and had to stop 30ish minutes once as something was off with the bus. The “smoking ceremony” consisted of a 3 min introduction from a guide before heading to the rain forest. The ice cream stop was great and we got to see a mini crocodile on the river cruise!
It was great, Sambo was amazing, thanks for all

Lustige Tour dank Tourguide
