Join us for a day trip from Cairns to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, where the world’s oldest tropical rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef.
Join us for a day trip to the Daintree Rainforest, where the world’s oldest tropical rainforest meets the iconic Great Barrier Reef. This unique region is the only place on Earth where two World Heritage-listed sites exist side by side. With its incredible natural beauty and ecological significance, this full-day tour allows plenty of time to explore and appreciate this remarkable environment.
Heading north our first stop is at Mossman Gorge, which is in the southern sector of the world-famous Daintree National Park. This gorge has been carved out by the cold mountain waters of Mossman River. It's a magical place and you'll participate in a "Welcome to Country and Smoke Ceremony" with the traditional owners.
Next, it’s time to explore this ancient rainforest environment on an interesting, guided tour of the Mossman Gorge. Our highly trained guides will give expert rainforest interpretation, which will inform and impress. Be amazed at the huge diversity you will encounter, everything from low lying ferns and shrubs to the massive rainforest canopy.
There is an opportunity for you to enjoy a refreshing swim in the cascading waters.
Your next stop will be a Wildlife Cruise on the Daintree River where you might see a crocodile and other native wildlife, while learning about the fragile ecosystem of this impressive serpent-like river system.
You are now on the north side on the Daintree River where our guide will meet you for your next stop.
Enjoy a delicious lunch in the rainforest, before a guided rainforest and beach walk. Here you will be able to see 'Where the Rainforest meets the Reef' - 2 UNESCO World-Heritage Listed Sites.
Your final stop of the day will be at the Daintree Ice Cream Co – where you can enjoy deliciously exotic fruit ice cream made on site, in small artisan style batches. Yum! [At own cost.]
Then it’s back on to the bus for the return journey to your accommodation.
It was a fabulous trip, very comfortable and covered all the main highlights. The Daintree river boat and guided tour was amazing. We even saw wild crocodiles. Michael our tour guide was excellent, he was friendly and very knowledgeable. We personally enjoyed his commentary with lots of insight. The lunch could be better as it was cold by the time we got it. I love Mexican bowl but this wasn’t the best meal provided from the restaurant
Excellent tour. Michael had great energy and was very knowledgeable, and kept to the schedule without feeling pressured! Really enjoyed the swim in the gorge and the boat down the Daintree River. Great day, would highly recommend
The tour guide was not flexible about timing, the lunch was awful, cold and not tasty. Mature people need to go to bathroom more than others, and it should be an understanding about that. The rest was fine.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that parts of your experience didn’t meet expectations, particularly around the timing, lunch quality, and comfort breaks. We understand how important flexibility and regular stops are, especially for guests who may need a bit more time and consideration throughout the day, and we’ll be sure to pass this feedback on to our team. We also appreciate your comments regarding the lunch and will review this with our catering partners to ensure it better meets the standard we aim to deliver. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the rest of the experience, and we truly value your input as it helps us improve. We hope to have the opportunity to provide an even better experience in the future.
I had high expectations for this tour being in the oldest rainforest in the world but it was actually fairly boring. I didn't expect high adventure but was disappointed at the lack of information given about the rainforest, walked away thinking maybe there isn't anything different about it compared to other rainforests. Would have loved for some educational information to be given rather than just being led around.
