Michelle said... We started the day being transferred to a different boat because the boat Dreamtime normally uses was required for another trip. Before leaving the marina we were warned that the sea was going to be very rough heading out to the reef and passengers were therefor urged to buy sea sickness prevention medication that was available on board. We followed the advice and were okay but many others weren't, making for a rather unpleasant trip. The snorkelling was okay but the sea was very choppy making it hard work. We've been lucky to have snorkelled in Fiji and the Cook Islands over the past 12 months and found that they were at least as good, if not better, than the 2 sites we went to on the GBR. We were told we'd have a good chance of seeing reef sharks and possibly even turtles but no-one on our trip saw any. The marine biologist's presentation on the way out to the reef was informative as were the indigenous presentations. Overall we felt the snorkelling trips we did in Fiji and the Cook Islands were much better value.
