For an adrenalin-pumping experience you'll never forget, find a deal and jump aboard Discovery Jet and blast along the Rakaia River.

Hang on tight as our driver skilfully weaves the jet boat through the intricate network of braided river channels, skimming along stony banks and through gushing crystal clear waters rich with salmon and trout. As you journey through the gorge, the wind ripping through your hair and water spraying with every carefully-calculated twist and turn, soak in the towering coal and limestone cliffs. As you open to the top of the gorge embrace the magnitude of the majestic Southern Alps and Mt Hutt. Feel the excitement as your driver spins the boat 360 degrees.

Our drivers know the river like the back of their hand and will unveil to you all its glittering treasures. This trip is a 30 minute river blast, but if you are seeking further adventure, - whether you are looking for a foot-to-the-floor thrill-seeking experience or a more sedate, leisurely ride along the river we can tailor-make a jet safari for you.

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the weather or anything else out of your control) you will be entitled to a full refund.

  • The Trip times below are indicative only - Trip times are dependent upon weather and river conditions. You must contact the Operator to confirm your Trip. You must also provide a contact number when booking.

    When booking special Bookme hot deals, the operator in very rare occasions, not withstanding all endeavors, - may have to reschedule the time slightly if load requirements dictate. Fantastic!

Amazing trip. Bit of everything from thrilling turns, spins, skimming close to cliffs adrenaline pumping stuff to informative information plus amazing scenery for picture taking. Much better than the Queenstown one I experienced in the past. Well worth a detour and nice drive there. Thanks again 👌👍
