Great day out seeing the sights of the city and a great way to get your bearing if you have just arrived. Both tours were very interesting and the guide was fantastic (we had the same guy for both) - friendly and with lots of interesting local knowledge. I have been in Christchurch a few months and did this when my parents visited but learned some new stuff, especially with the trip out to the "red zone". Would highly recommend.
The tour was disappointing because the commentary included mostly information about the earthquake and was very difficult to understand because it was too loud and the sound system was poor.
Hop on hop off bus only goes every hour so could only get off once. Sound system was really bad. Discovery bus driver was lovely and really helpful but mainly talked about the earthquake and tried to paint a rosier picture of the damage and rebuild than the truth. Would have liked to learn more facts about Chch, past and present.

Great afternoon trip
Enthusiastic & knowledgable driver - really helped us understand the ongoing impact of the earthquakes We didn’t realise that ticket included hop-on, hop off bus & too late to make use of it when we got back from 3pm trip
