Join us to view the incredible Humpback whales while they are on their annual migration. Our catamaran, ‘Game Changer’ makes for a unique experience with these creatures. On occasion, they come right alongside the vessel to show off and pose for photos. There will be plenty of photo opportunities on our vessel, especially on the viewing deck where you can see a clear view of the whales breaching. You will have memories for a lifetime!
We also have a unique opportunity to participate in unique research activities. You will receive information about humpback whales and the options for getting involved. Alternatively, feel free to sit back and enjoy the experience.
With our small vessel we run tours for 2-3 hours depending on the conditions and whale sightings on the day. We can run up to 3 tours per day:
- 09:00am – Morning Tour(usuallythe calmest sea conditions and the least likelihood of weather cancellation)
- 12:00am – Midday Tour(the most popular choice for locals)
- 03:00pm – Sunset Tour(from July to August only. Amazing lighting for photographers)
Itinerary
- Meet us at the Aqua Adventure Centre Southport
- Safety brief, put on spray jackets
- Depart marina and cruise through the Broadwater.
- Enter the open ocean to find and watch the whales.
- Commence return cruise to the Marina whilst watching whales.
- Arrive back at our Southport Jetty.

Whale extravaganza
Wow - could not have been happier with the experience. Saw a whale jumping early and thought it couldn't get any better. Then, ended up following a pod of 5 whales for over 90 minutes. Up close and personal, just in awe of the whole experience and the amazing animals in their natural element. Cannot recommend highly enough

An incredible experience
We have been whale watching in the Goldcoast in the bigger boats. We thought to try this experience for something different. It was the best time we have ever had. Great commentary. Amazing to get so close to the whales who put on a fantastic show. Totally recommend this trip.

Aqua adventures whale swim
We had a wonderful trip with Aqua adventures. Monica our guide and skipper Adam did a fantastic job to ensure we all had a perfect day. Their knowledge and experience and love of the ocean really helped to give us the best opportunity to see whales both from the water and underwater. Both were magical experiences. Thank you so much to this fabulous team.

Woah, impressed !
The crew went above and beyond to make this experience one of a kind for everyone on board, Monica was very knowledgeable and very willing to answer any questions with enthusiasm. couldn't ask for better people. The boat was very well. kept with comfortable seats and been a small boat, the capitan did everything possible to keep everyone happy while still been respectful of the whales

Fantastic experience!
Had the most incredible time! We were out on the boat for 2.5ish hours and saw so many whales! We saw a whale breach as well and got close to them. We were given splash proof jackets and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Incredible experience. Would recommend taking motion sickness medication beforehand, particularly on choppy days!
