Skydive with Taupo Tandem Skydiving! We are the top rated skydive company on TripAdvisor. Ready for adrenalin? Race through the air at 200kph and when you hit the brakes, take in the gorgeous mountain vistas and beautiful Lake Taupo below as you parachute back to middle earth. Being a Qualmark endorsed activity, your safety is paramount. Get primed for a radical experience with TTS, over 200,000 jumps since 1992!
The beauty of tandem skydiving is that you don’t have to do a thing. Your experienced tandem master will walk you through every step of the way. We provide harnesses, safety goggles and jumpsuits, and even give you a free buff to wear during the jump, which is yours to take away. On arrival you will fill out a waiver form, then our friendly ground crew will run you through all of the available options. Once you have decided on your camera and altitude options it’s time to get geared up and meet your tandem master!
After a short safety briefing, you will board the plane, for a 15-minute scenic flight to altitude. Once at 12,000 ft the door will open and it’s time to jump! After exiting the plane you will freefall at speeds of 200kph for 60 seconds. At 5,000 ft your tandem master will deploy the parachute and you can catch your breath while taking in the stunning views of the Lake Taupo area. Once back on the ground it’s time for a high five - you did it!!
The Experience
- Enjoy free transport within Taupo approx 30 minutes before your skydive (or drive out to our drop zone yourself)
- Arrive at our dropzone, just a 10 minute drive from Taupo
- Meet our crew, fill in the required safety forms, and get a debrief on the skydiving process
- Time to meet your master! You'll get suited up and get to chat to your tandem master who will accompany you on your skydive
- Up and away! Hop on board the plane and enjoy a scenic 20 minute ride to altitude
- 3,2,1...jump! Once at 12,000ft, your tandem master and you will jump from the plane and enjoy 45 seconds of incredible freefall
- At 5000ft, your tandem master will deploy the parachute. Time to relax! Enjoy a lovely scenic parachute ride back down to the dropzone
- High 5! You did it! Just a 50 metre walk back to the hangar, you can hang up your jumpsuit and check out all the incredible footage from your skydive.

First time skydiving
What an amazing experience. I upgraded to 15000 ft and it was worth every cent. The instructors were fantastic and made me at ease. Would highly recommend this place, just brilliant

No Regrets!!!
This is an amazing experience, from the initial hotel pickup in a limo, to the friendly arrival, great tandem masters and exhilarating jump. Wouldn't have missed this for anything!!!!

Amazing experience!
My daughters did the jump and were thrilled about it. Highly recommend. Just keep ample time for reschedules as the jumps are weather dependent

Astonishing Dive
It was such a satisfying experience. The view was spectacular. I upgraded from 12,000 to 15,000 ft on the spot and I never regretted this decision. Cheers to my instructor, Jack and my photographer, Alex for being friendly and keeping me excited throughout the whole experience. Will definitely dive again!

Fantastic experience!
Not knowing what to expect I was a little nervous about sending my son sky high to jump out of a plane for the first time. Got to say it was just the best experience! Fun, professional, excellent. We will for sure be back.
