With the Hamner Springs Double Dare Combo, you get the following two activities:
Jet boat on the Waiau River: Take in spectacular scenery as you roar down the Waiau River reaching speeds of 90kmh per hour while navigating whitewater rapids, braided shallows and narrow gorges. Feel your adrenaline levels peak as the jet boat turns on its own length and you experience the famous 360 spin - a must do kiwi experience!
Quad Bike Tour: Experience an epic off-road adventure as you explore an exciting range of Canterbury terrain ploughing through streams, mud, forest and over rocks from the back of a Quad. Have a whole lot of fun as you discover breath-taking scenery in the alpine backyard of Hamner Springs led by our friendly, expert guide.
We are the only Jet boat operator in Hanmer Springs that:
- Is recognised by Qualmark as having appropriate safety standards to a gold rating in addition to Maritime Certification.
- Has New Zealand regulated safety standards recognised by AdventureMark
- Has a superior fleet of boats on the river, all powered by twin engines
- Has a base with balcony overlooking the river, café and facilities

A ton of fun!
Starting off with Quad biking, we had just two of us with a guide - very private and fun! The guide was top notch and took us on a great route through the land and over various textures, through water and over rocky paths. 2 hours of adventure backdropped by clear skies and expansive mountain ranges. We then did the jetboat, which was a blast rushing along the water and pulling 360s with a very skilled driver. This combo is a must do when visiting Hanmer, especially on a clear day!

Highly recommend
Quads have some great river crossings which are always a blast. The Jet boat was fantastic !!! Just make sure you grab a spray jacket if you’re with Daniel he’s a fantastic driver and good local knowledge.

Great experience
I thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride, staff was very friendly and added to the experience. The quad was just as fun was just unfortunate for the weather. I’d recommend going when it’s snowing, staff was equally as great on this trip. Overall great fun.
