Public Italian Kitchen is a relaxed Italian-inspired Pasta & Grill restaurant located on Steamer Wharf in central Queenstown. With spectacular views across Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains, Public combines Italian food with relaxed lakefront dining for lunch, dinner, drinks and daily Happy Hour from 3–5pm.

The menu features pasta favourites including Fettuccine Carbonara, Spaghetti Bolognese and Conchiglie Alla Vodka, alongside premium steaks from the grill, New Zealand oysters and classic Italian desserts including Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. Pair your meal with cocktails, New Zealand wines or Italian wines.

Public is open every day, is child-friendly and offers gluten-free and coeliac-friendly options.

Dining Coupon Promotions

  • Any promotions made available on this Bookme restaurant product will be by way of a Bookme Coupon Promotion. - If you arrive at the restaurant more than 15 minutes after the time specified on your booking confirmation your Discount Voucher will have expired, and the restaurant is under no obligation to honour the discount or the booking.

- Bookme Discount Voucher's cannot be combined or used in conjunction with any other discount or promotion the restaurant may be running.

- Your voucher entitles you to a generous 90-minute table booking time, starting from your specific voucher booking time. Please be aware that table will be rebooked after this point.

- Bookings cannot be made across different times, or discounts and then combined to accommodate for extra people or for any other reason. On any such bookings the discount will be deemed null and void, and you will receive no refund.

Excellent food and Lakefront location

We have thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here, the staff were friendly and attentive, the meals were tasty and well presented, the restaurant also located by the lakefront, we got to see the Earnslaw steamboat return and dock. The whole dining experience was so memorable! Thank you!
