  • We offer a picnic lunch as an optional extra - this can be added as you proceed through the checkout for $25 per person.

    Please note an appropriate child restraint must be provided by the caregiver (adult) in order for an infant or small child to travel on the coach. This is in accordance with New Zealand Law.

  • Child age is to 0-14 years.

    **Complimentary pick-up in Te Anau is available, please request when booking. Main check in is Southern Discoveries Visitor centre, 80 lakefront Drive Te Anau.**

    Important Notice: Please note that if you are travelling in March or April this trip does not include a visit to the Milford Sound Underwater Observatory. Due to the damage caused to the Milford Road from the floods at the start of February, there will be changes to your Go Milford Day Trip.

    From Friday, 21 February coaches will drive into Milford Sound under the guidance of New Zealand Transport Agency. During this time we will be unable to make any stops on the Milford Road and our cruise schedule will be operating slightly different as a result. If you have any concerns or would like further information before your trip, please call 03 441 1137 or email reservations@southerndiscoveries.co.nz.

    Please Note: The Underwater Observatory will not be available until October 2020.

Umfangreich und informativ bei kleiner Gruppe

Sowohl der Bus- als auch Bootsfahrer haben ihr umfangreiches Wissen gut geteilt. Alle waren außerdem sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Haltespots waren unglaublich gut gewählt und angenehm in der Anzahl. Bei dem einen oder anderen Spot hätten wir aber gerne noch eine weitere Minute verbracht. Weil der Busfahrer nach über Tausend Touren einen so riesigen Regenbogen in den Milford Sound zum ersten Mal gesehen hat, musste er einen spontanen Extrahalt einlegen und selbst ein Bild machen. Die Busfahrt war auch sehr entspannend. Wir hatten zwar ein eigenes Fahrzeug, aber man weiß im Gebirge ja nie so richtig mit dem Wetter. Außerdem kann man sich so besser umschauen. Wir hatten noch etwas Glück, weil wir bei der Bootstour Delfine gesehen haben. Der Mittagssnack war unerwarteter Weise wie auf den Bildern und echt lecker. Alles in allem dauerte die Tour etwa 8 Stunden (10:30-18:30). Auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen.

Wow

Alleine der Bustrip mit unserer Busfahrerin zu Milford war ein Erlebnis. Sie hat so viel erklärt. Wir waren an einem sehr verregneten Tag dort und es gab unzählige Wasserfälle. Leider war der Besuch des Unterwasserobservatorium wegen Sturm gecancelt. Dafür wurden wir auf ein größeres Boot und auf Buffet Lunch geupgradet. Ich hätte das ganze lieber eine Nummer kleiner gehabt, wie auch gebucht, aber da kann ja niemand etwas für. Was mir nicht so gut gefallen hat sind die vielen Touristen, die sich nicht benehmen können und dass die Ansagen auf dem Schiff nicht nur laut in Englisch sondern auch in Japanisch und Chinesisch kamen, das war richtig nervig. Daher leider ein Pünktchen Abzug.

Ein unglaublich schöner Tag. Von Anfang bis Ende super organisiert und sehr freundlich. Auch auf der Busfahrt gab es mehrere Stops. Tja und der Milford Sound ist unglaublich schön, einfach beeindruckend. Absolut empfehlenswert.
