While we were driven up onto the Skippers Canyon and down to the river, it was still raining and we were given several serious warnings...I’m a competent swimmer but when the guide says to everyone ‘you need to be an “Olympic” swimmer’, I thought I should be fine since I’ve done white water rafting before and I was fine...Anyway I ended up falling into the “worst part” and almost drowned, I was semi-conscious by the time I was pulled out of the water and there was no other way back but to get back onto the raft and continue on. Overall, I’m glad I did it and came out alive but I will never do it again. In saying that, thank you to the guides for an epic ride.
