Confinement Taupo offers 4 exciting escape rooms with unique themes, storylines and clues as well as outdoor scavenger hunts perfect for people who enjoy problem-solving games, birthdays, corporate team building and stags or hens do's.
We are located in central Taupo and are the first Escape Room in New Zealand to achieve a Qualmark certification.
Our fully themed escape rooms have regularly changing clues meaning you can come back again and again for a fresh new challenge every time. Get your team together and put your detective hats on to see if you can solve the clues and puzzles to escape in 60 minutes or less......
The Candy Cottage
Difficulty Levels: Standard 4/5, Advanced 4/5
Storyline: A picnic turned thrilling adventure...uncover the secrets of the enchanted forest and escape before time runs out!
Suitability: This room (while still difficult enough for adults) is family-friendly. If you love a fun story, this is the room for you!

A Sweet and Thrilling Family Adventure!
We had an absolute blast at The Candy Cottage escape room! It was the perfect family outing – heaps of fun, clever puzzles, and just the right mix of spooky and sweet. The story was super engaging from the start setting the scene for an unforgettable adventure. Everyone – from the kids to the adults – got involved, and we loved working together to beat the clock before the witch returned! Highly recommend for families looking for a fun and immersive experience. We’re still talking about it days later!

Delightful Escape room
This escape room was fun and had some good challenges for our group of three. We really enjoyed some of the mechanics of the room and everything was set up well and worked smoothly.
