Craters of the Moon Taupō
Nice walk. Otherwise not a lot to really see re “craters”. More like steam coming from behind a bush or out of an obscure hole in the ground. Also don’t realise the moon had so much vegetation and bush land :)

Visit with family
It looks nothing like the pictures on the website. The day we visited was very hot and bright, which could have been a factor. But I was disappointed. If you are someone who has never seen geothermal activity, you may find it interesting. But if you have travelled in the Rotorua-Taupo region, you have likely encountered more spectacular places. For comparison, Rotorua's Kuirau Park (a relatively low activity area) is better and it is free.
