Hidden gem
This was a pleasant surprise! A small but really well presented museum and a beautiful walk with interpretation panels and a stunning waterfall! Don’t miss this- a nice break from expensive and hectic Rotorua!

Surprisingly good!
The kids had a blast discovering the history of this buried village following the catastrophic eruptions. The scavenger hunt kept them fully engaged, making our walk through the site both easy and enjoyable for the whole family.
