Educational and Beautiful!
We had a ln overcast day but that didn’t stop us- check in was so easy- we borrowed an umbrella and had a great walk through the valley. Trails are easy and well maintained. We took to small detour up the stairs and the forest walk was peaceful. The wetlands walk was full of birds. We packed our lunch and ate at the picnic tables right by the boat dock. The ride was so nice- we could be inside or out and were comfy. The tour given by the captain was very good. Seeing the geothermal features of such an interesting place was super cool!

Excellent Day Out
Visited over the weekend, very off the map indeed, got to the reception where i was greeted by 2 wonderful staff members who gave me lots of great advice indeed, the walk (2hrs) was fantastic indeed lots to see in the first bit thou,also did the lake cruise , the skipper was fun and knowledgeable and definitely was the highlight of the day, then went back to the cafe for something to eat/drink which was great also, a definite must visit 4.5 stars out of 5

Incredible place, friendly guides
Despite rainy weather the walk through the valley was completely jaw dropping and awe inspiring. They lend out nice big umbrellas and the staff were so nice, knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. I had a wonderful day here.

An unfolding dynamic landscape
Walking through the volcanic valley invites a leisurely up-close discovery of diverse landscapes from dazzling blue hot crater lakes, hot springs, geisers, rich flora, and gurgling creeks to the vast Lake Rotomahana where the journey continues by boat. With engaging commentary, the boat ride took us past unusual volcanic formations, islands, geothermal steaming vents, and views of the volcano that explosion in the 1800s. Altogether fascinating and breathtaking. Highly recommended and reasonably priced.
