Embark on the Cape Hauy Hike, a thrilling day trip that showcases the beauty of Tasmania’s Three Capes. Starting early from Hobart, we’ll drive to the Tasman Peninsula, where the hike begins at Fortescue Bay. This 9.4 km return trek takes about 4 hours and features a mix of stairs and varied terrain, making it a great challenge for active hikers.
As you walk, you’ll navigate through lush forests and coastal heath, with plenty of opportunities to pause and admire the dramatic cliffs and ocean views. The highlight of the hike is reaching the Cape Hauy lookout, where you can see the iconic Candlestick and Totem Pole sea stacks.
After the hike, unwind at Fortescue Bay, where you can relax on the beach or enjoy a packed lunch. On the way back to Hobart, we’ll stop at Bangor Vineyard Shed for a wine tasting or a bite to eat, capping off a rewarding day in nature.
