Mark Germain said... We rode in rain, and it didn't matter, just added to the atmosphere. Unlike most "rail trails" this one is almost always on a tight curve, so the view is always changing. Cuttings with almost vertical sides carved through rock, that are now huge moss covered walls. Plenty of waterfalls to see, and a river keeps popping into view. A really fun "hanging bridge", so good we crossed it back and forth a few times. The trail is steep for a train track, 15% for 5 km at one point, and this is an out and back ride, so e Bike strongly recommended unless you are super fit. Some story boards along the way tell you the history of the railway and the people that lived there. You know its a fun ride when you are grinning even after 3 hours of riding in the rain. Sunshine would make it a superb day out.
