Get a taste of New Zealand's rich history on an exciting and interactive small group tour with expert local guide...
Make the most out of your visit to Wellington and discover New Zealand as it used to be on an informative 1 hour guided journey through Aotearoa's rich history and culture.
Located conveniently on Wellingtons beautiful waterfront, you'll see world-leading exhibitions, treasures, and hidden gems that bring to life the heritage that makes up our little slice of paradise.
Led by your highly trained guide who has a knack for bringing captivating local stories to life, you’ll learn about Māori history, Aotearoa’s unique wildlife and life in the South Pacific.
Along the way you'll come face-to-face with the largest and only colossal squid on display in the world while also enjoying high-tech interactive exhibits, art and design galleries, and the living, growing exhibition of Bush City.
And if that's not enough, once the tour is over you can explore the museum at your own pace.
Regardless of how many times you've visited Te Papa, there is always something new to discover on the "Introducing Te Papa tour".
We were so glad we took the guided tour as there was so much to see. Christine gave us a brief overview of each section and some really great info that we wouldn't have learned on our own. Then you have 48 hours to go back and explore. There is so much to see breaking it into 2 visits was good. Got a great deal through bookme. Must see!
Great museum and the tour was very nice to familiarize with the different exhibitions before exploring by yourself.
I'm a bit disappointed with my experience at Te Papa Museum in Wellington. I booked and paid $60 for an online ticket, but when I arrived, I found out that as a resident or visa holder, entry is actually free. I think it's essential for museums to clearly communicate their admission policies to avoid confusion. Despite the ticket mix-up, I enjoyed the museum's exhibitions, particularly the ones showcasing Maori culture and history. The guided tours were informative and engaging, providing valuable insights into New Zealand's rich heritage.
Very good and informative tour. The museum is a lustvsee during a visit to Aotearoa.
