Did this tour on a cold Wellington day and still had a ball. The Weta studio tour was very informative. Would loved to have done the full day tour but it wouldn't fit into our schedule. If you're any kind of LOTR fan and you're visiting Wellington, do this tour.
Wonderful drive with amazing views, lots of great information & Shanai was wonderful at making everyone feel welcome & included. Lots of fun with great scenery.
Very interesting at weta guide both in weta and the rest very good and enthusiastic but visit to woodland filming points less so
I'm glad you enjoyed both your guides, but sorry that you didn't enjoy the filming locations. Mt Victoria is home to some pretty iconic scenes and we do our best to bring them to life, but it has been 26+ years since they filmed there so there is a degree of difference from the actual films.
It actually happens quite often that people enjoy the Half Day tour so much that they want to join for the rest of the day, as well. We will always allow the upgrade whenever there's seats available! I see your photo was taken in Rivendell, which is probably the highlight of the extra scenes you saw.

Fun day
A well spent day in Wellington. Mark and Chris were such a fun hostess for a tour guide that our day was not boring even though it’s a windy day at the time we went for a short day trip. ☺️
