Best tour guide ever

We had the pleasure of having Wiwi (not really sure how to write his name) he knew so much about the LOTR but also about New Zealand. Was absolutely amazing!

Hi Telma, Wywy is indeed very knowledgeable about all things Lord of the Rings, but we're always aware that some people who join us aren't quite as into the movies as others, so all our guides like to incorporate a bit of New Zealand and Wellington information and history, as well.

Full Day Tour review

Andrew was a very knowledgeable and funny guide, and we were lucky enough to hear about his experience as a prosthetics artist on all three films. I did the full day tour- the experience would be better if the afternoon went lunch and then rivendell and the anduin, as we did eat lunch a bit late. I had lots of questions but was sat at the back of the bus, so if you are curious, try to sit more front of the bus. The tour would be better if we went down to get photos from angles more similar to the film - several locations e.g. harcourt park we stood above the site but didn't go down into it, but this may have been because there were some older/less mobile folks in our group and the sites were down a hill. The Victoria Park sites would probably have been better done without a tour for this reason as they are on google maps and we skipped one (Frodo's reading tree) so I didn't get to see it as I flew out the next day. But the stories we heard were great. Rivendell would have been quite underwhelming and difficult to tell, as would the Anduin, if we didn't have Andrew there to talk us through some locations. Perhaps the company needs to offer a half day tour of the second half. Also learned some fun facts about Wellington which we wouldn't have otherwise.

Hi Lexi, Thanks for the feedback. We normally do our lunch before we do Rivendell as we know from experience that our fellow travellers get hungry after a morning of adventuring. As we get people of different fandom levels it is best to get a seat nearer the driver as we make plenty of time on the trip so you can ask our LOTR experts any burning questions. To your last point, in the past we used to run a 1/2 day that just visited the locations. It is a great tour, and hopefully will be offering this as an option again in the near future.
