Glacier Country Helicopters is a local family, owned and operated company. Husband and wife duo Poppy and Gus Gordon who are both commercial pilots started the company in 2014. You’ll find them at the hangar or flying one our helicopters most days.

Our friendly team are certified Qualmark Gold, have received the Traveller’s Choice Award several years and look forward to showing you the glaciers, rainforests and mountains that form our incredible back yard.

Bad Weather Refunds

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the bad weather, safety concerns, unscheduled maintenance etc) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

  • Please Note:

    All passengers and any gear will be weighed at check in. If you are 120kg or over, you will be required to book a comfort seat (the cost is half the RRP of your flight).

    Do you have limited mobility e.g. injury, arthritis, or recent surgery? There are two high ladder style steps into the helicopter. This information could affect what helicopter you fly you in.Please let us know as you proceed through checkout.

    Bad weather refunds: If your experience is cancelled by the operator (due to weather) you will be entitled to a full refund. Your booking is only valid for the time & route you have booked and is not be able to be rescheduled or transferred to an alternative.

    Snow Landing: All routes and snow landings are subject to change at short notice including during the flight. If you are unable to snow land due to weather conditions and your flight is turned into an overflight (total time will be reduced by your snow landing time) you will be refunded the landing fee of $30 per person.

    Flights require a minimum of 4 pax to depart. Solo travellers & smaller bookings are welcomed, and we will aim to pair you up with another booking.

    Cancellation policy:

    All bookings are non-transferable, and cancellations must be made 24hours in advance or 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Wir konnten, aufgrund des Wetters, zwar nur 2 Gletscher überfliegen und nicht landen, jedoch trotzdem ein einmaliges Erlebnis! Organisation hinsichtlich Information und Umbuchung super. Anbieter sehr zu empfehlen.

Schön, aber chaotisch

Ich habe für den Nachmittag gebucht, bekam morgens gegen 7:30 eine Mail ob wir auch schon gegen 11:30 einchecken/ fliegen könnten. Dort angekommen, sagte man uns, dass aufgrund schlechtem Wetter wir 1,5 Stunden später fliegen würden. Also kamen wir wieder, und man wollte uns wieder in den Nachmittag verlegen wie ursprünglich gebucht. Das lehnten wir dann ab und bestanden auf die vorherige Zusage. Die Dame an der Rezeption war etwas unfreundlich. Der Flug war toll, unglaublich, unfassbar , ein wahnsinnig schönes Erlebnis. Der Pilot war super, sehr freundlich, sehr motiviert, viele Erklärungen. Die Landung auf dem Eis war toll und hatten genug Zeit

Grandioses Erlebnis

Wir flogen mit Poppy, die uns die Gletscher ganz aus der Nähe zeigte. Wir landeten auf einem Schneefeld des Gletschers. Dank des traumhaften Wetters konnten wir bis zu den Stränden der WestCoast blicken.

Fabelhafter Flug bei tollem Wetter

Unser lange geplanter Helikopterflug fiel leider buchstäblich ins Wasser. Gott sei Dank konnten wir auf den frühen Flug am nächsten Tag umbuchen. Der fand dann bei tollem Sonnenschein und mit einer hervorragenden Pilotin statt. Es war ein beeindruckendes Erlebnnis.
