Great experience, fantastic crew, guide was awesome and I like that Irish guy...The way he entertain everyone and bring everyone under the waterfall...Awesome experience.
The boat was spacious,, clean and comfortable. The crew were knowledgeable and shared their love of the location with us. The hostess told us not to be sad that it was raining. She said it rains 200 days of the year here, we measure rainfall in metres, last year we had 10 metres of rain... 'this is our liquid sunshine.. be happy and feel free to dance in the rain'. The captain started the trip with a welcome and introduction in Te Reo, provided informative commentary, turned the boat around do we could see penguins, stopped boat so we could see dolphins and handled boat expertly. The cafe staff were great, provided great food with free tea, coffee and hot chocolate. This team's love of the location and their vessel was evident and they shared a part of themselves when they took us out for the trip. Don't hesitate to book a trip with the Jucy team. They made a special day and place even better because they love it. Kia ora!
Milford Sound itself was amazing. We have spotted some seals. Also, the boat came really close to the waterfall. Other than that, it was an average experience because the boat was crowded, you couldn’t hear what the guide is saying. Next time I will choose a small boat with kayaks to actually enjoy this stunning place. Remember: parking at Milford Sound will cost you 30 NZD/3hr and you can stay for 3h max.
expect to arrive to very confusing parking. last time we came here the parking was free and closer to the terminal now the free park is half an hours walk at least so be prepared for that! also the paid parking is $10 an hour! We were quote 2 hours by the info center plus add 15 min walk to terminal. We paid for 4 hours but were back at the vehicle in 2 hours, the cruise was only 1.5 as we did not go right out as was specified in brochure, the skipper said it was looking a bit rough but it was not! it was calm as you can see in my photos. My husband has a boat and said it was fine to go out further. The actual cruise was nice expect very busy with people leaning all over the barriers making it difficult to get in and take a photo. I think I liked was the waterfall experience on the way back. Also hearing the Titanic song as 2 people acted out a scene from Titanic- funny. Would be nice to have heard the whole song! Spiritual place, I actually caught on camera eerie images in the waterfall! the waterfall alone was the best experience overall and the views were spectacular. I would go again but on a smaller boat for an over night cruise

Loved it
We had a cloudy rainy day when we went to milford sound but we absolutely loved it. Our busdrivers name was Wayne and he was awesome, he told us all about the history of new zealand and its birds and trees and we loved him! Also the cruise was lovely, you really need to bring your raincoat because the most fun we had was when we were under the waterfalls!
