Your expert driver takes you skimming through the shallows at up to 90kmph in mere centimeters of water. Ride the rapids and experience thrilling, gravity-defying stunts within a hair’s breadth of the awe-inspiring cliff faces.

Hold on tight and prepare yourself as the signal is given for the famous Shotover Jet 360° spin, watch as the scenery fully rotates around you, sending a spray of whitewater sparkling across the river's surface.

Shotover Jet is proudly bought to you by Ngāi Tahu, the Māori people of this land and the proud owners of Shotover Jet. Their connection to the Kimiakau (Shotover River) dates back centuries before the arrival of Europeans.

Shotover Jet is the only company with access to the spectacular Shotover River canyons, and no one knows this area as they do.

What's included

  • 25 minutes on the water
  • Life Jacket (mandatory) and optional splash coat
  • On site facilities include: plenty of parking, retail shop, toilets, lockers for your belongings and viewing areas. There is a restaurant next door.

Location

  • Check-in at River Base 30 mins prior to booked time. Located along Gorge Road at 3 Arthurs Point (approximately a 10-minute drive from Queenstown).

  • This experience welcomes families with children.

Notes

  • Family Pricing: The value of the Family Price is $432.00 if purchased individually - discounts shown from this rate. Family Passes are for 2 Adults and up to 2 Children, OR for 1 Adult and 3 children.

    Child Pricing: Applies to those 5 to 15 years.

    Minimum Height: 1 metre but should river conditions on the day dictate, Shotover Jet does reserve the right to extend the minimum child height to 1.2 metres to ensure maximum passenger safety.

    Duration: Please allow 1 hour 30 minutes round trip from central Queenstown.


    Self-Drive Check-in: Please be ready for check-in at the Shotover Jet's river base 30 minutes prior to departure. The river base is located on Gorge Road, 3 Arthur's Point and is just a short 10 minute drive from Queenstown.

    Courtesy Shuttle: A courtesy shuttle is available from Queenstown, applicable for the10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm & 3pm (all hourly departures except 1pm & 4pm). Customers must check-in at our desk inside The Station Building in Queenstown 45 minutes prior to the trip time. The Station Building is located at 25 Shotover Street, on the corner of Camp St and Shotover St, Queenstown.

    If you would like the optional courtesy shuttle, please select this option as your proceed through check-out.


    Important information:

    For safety reasons cameras and video cameras are not permitted aboard. Professional photo & video packs available for purchase on site immediately after your trip -Should river conditions on the day dictate, Shotover Jet does reserve the right to extend the minimum child height to 1.2 metres to ensure maximum passenger safety.

    Reservations Essential:

    Due to high demand for Shotover Jet, exact trips times will be confirmed with you via email by Shotover Jet. Trips run every hour so if your exact time selection isn't available, you will be scheduled to the next available trip.

Sollte man mal gemacht haben

Ich habe den Shotover Jet an meinem ersten Tag in Queenstown gemacht. Finde das war eine coole Einstimmung auf ein ereignisreiches Wochenende. Am Anfang dachte ich es wird vielleicht etwas langweilig, aber es hat wirklich Spaß gemacht. Man schießt mit vollem Karacho durch relativ enge Schluchten und die 360 Grad Spins sind auch sehr lustig. Man wird je nach Platzwahl schon ordentlich nass, also lieber das sexy Regencape nicht ablehnen. Bei gutem Wetter wirklich eine coole Sache. Das einzige: Ich empfand es etwas kurz. Sonst alle super nett und man bekommt für $30 ein nettes Video, also immer schön in die Kamera lächeln. Wer auf einen kleinen Adrenalinrausch aus ist (so wie ich), dem empfehle ich allerdings eher rafting oder natürlich nevis bungy.

Fun for all

Water was quite high the day we went, but was still fun. The driver was great, talked to everyone and showed us some things along the river. The full boat turns were super fun. We didn’t get more than a spray on us at the front. Thankfully our ride wasn’t cancelled but be aware weather can close them down when planning your holiday.
