Ganz netter Ausflug

Hatte bei dem Titel irgendwie eine geführte Tour erwartet, aber die Self-guided Tour war auch ganz cool. Mit 50% Rabatt auch auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Grundsätzlich 4 Sterne aber für den netten Service 5 Sterne, da wir unser Bootticket verloren hatten, aber der nette Bootsführer uns trotzdem mitgenommen hat. Das Panini in dem Cafe danach war absolut köstlich. Preis Leistung insgesamt top.

Toller Ausglug

Eine wirklich tolle Erfahrung! Man kann das Tal selbstständig auf einigen Wegen erkunden. Durch einen Info-Guide und zahlreiche Schilder erfährt man die Hintergrund Informationen zu den verschiedenen Kraterseen und Quellen. Auf der Schiffsfahrt gibt es dann noch mehr Infos von einem Guide und einen Geysir zu beobachten. Ich würde den Ausflug weiterempfehlen.

Lohnenswert ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Der Besuch hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen! Ich wusste, dass es einige geothermale Sehenswürdigkeiten zu sehen geben wird. Aber die Realität hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen! Der Self Guided Walk war klasse und die fast 5 km bis zum Bootsanleger sind sehr abwechslungsreich. Auch die Bootsfahrt hat sich gelohnt! Der Lake Rotomahana und die Sicht auf den Mount Tarawera sind einzigartig. Zumal man anders kaum dort hin gelangen kann. Die Broschüre für den Walk und die Informationen des Skippers lassen eigentlich keine Fragen offen. Ich hätte gerne mehr Zeit gehabt um auf den Rückweg noch den Hiking Trail zu den Black Terraces (anspruchsvoll!) zu gehen. Wenn man alles in Ruhe sehen möchte und gerne wandert, sollte man inkl. Bootstour 4-5 Stunden einplanen. Und die Bootstour sollte man machen! Wenn man nicht so gut zu Fuß ist oder kleine Kinder dabei sind, helfen die kleinen Busse, die man auch zwischendurch nutzen kann. Mein Fazit: lohnenswerter Geopark, viel besser als z.B. Craters of the Moon bei Taupo und auch nicht teuer.

Beeindruckend

Am Tag war es etwas regnerisch und daher eher weniger Leute unterwegs, was angenehm war. Der Weg führt doch recht weit bis zum See, viele hören am 1.Busstop auf zu gehen und nehmen den Bus zum See. Auch wenn es hinten raus etwas lange wird, so sind die diversen Terrassen am Weg sehr beeindruckend. Die Fahrt mit dem Boot war unterhaltsam..nice Captain. Der Geysir der alle 5 min sprudelt das wahre Highlight am See. Vulkan wegen Nebel/Wolken war leider nicht zu sehen. Insgesamt 3 Stunden mit Bootsfahrt einrechnen, ohne 2 Stunden mit gehen bis zum See und retour mitm Bus.
