Love it, fascinating
Informative, interesting, interactive. Spent 2 fab hours reading and listening to everything there. Loved the range of exhibits from creatures to marine to caves to culture. And the blowhole was so surprising. If you're interested in knowing all about the local area, you'll love it. The Mawhera and Kawatiri ones are also amazing.

Beautiful immersive experience
Wow, from the external presence of the building, the entrance, the legends and real stories and videos of the flora and fauna unique to Punakaiki. E.g I’ve never seen the Powelliphanta snail eat a worm before it was fascinating, tramping stories and art plus the beautifully told Māori legends. Go, be surprised and immersed in this unique region.

Excellent - so much fascinating information
Comprising a mix of video, interactive exhibits, listening booths, information panels and beautifully presented on-screen displays this exhibition takes you through Māori legends of the West Coast, the flora and fauna of Paparoa, the waters of the area, the creation of the pancake stacks of rock along the coast and the karst limestone landscape inland and the sealife of the local marine reserve. Welcome hosts who explain the exhibition introduce you to your self-guided tour. I would leave at least an hour to enjoy all the details.
