An Epic Whitsundays Itinerary

Sail past Hook Island, Hayman Island, Border Island, and Whitsunday Island, potentially stopping at some of the following snorkeling sites in the region, such as Luncheon Bay, Caves Cove, and Blue Pearl Bay—plus secret locations the crew will select based on conditions. Swim among thriving coral gardens, spot giant clams, tropical fish, and sea turtles, and immerse yourself in the untouched beauty of the Great Barrier Reef’s fringing reefs.
Fast-Paced Sailing or Pure Relaxation—You Choose!
For those who love hands-on adventure, you can help hoist the sails, and experience the thrill of real sailing as Avatar cuts through the water with unmatched speed. Or, if relaxation is more your style, stretch out on the spacious nets, soak up the sun, and take in the breathtaking island views.
Incredible Nights Under the Stars
When the sun sets, the magic continues. Avatar's underwater blue lights attract marine life for a unique after-dark viewing experience, while above deck, the Whitsundays’ star-filled sky offers some of the best stargazing on the planet. Watch the Milky Way stretch across the night sky, free from city lights, as the waves gently lap against the hull.

Hi Corinna, Thank you so much for reviewing your trip with Avatar Whitsundays! How amazing that you mention or great crew, they sure love what they do! Rain is a shame but it does happen in the tropics, hope it was refreshing!! Thanks again. The OzSail Team
Had a super fun time at the Avatar! Even if we weren‘t lucky with the sunshine, the crew brings you to places that seem just too beautiful to be real. Snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, we saw hundreds of colourful fish, sea turtles, stingrays and at night even sharks underneath the boat. Other than that, the atmosphere was great and the food delicious. Have fun!
Hi Marilu, Thank you so much for leaving us a 5-star review, so glad you had a super fun time onboard! We can't order sunshine every day unfortunately, but we do have great crew that look after you while onboard no matter the weather! How awesome you got to meet some of our incredible local wildlife too. OzSail Team
Amazing experience, amazing staff and really good food. Recommended 100%
Hi Davide, Thank you for your great feedback, we really appreciate it. Thanks, OzSail Team
I took my 19 year old son for a few nights and we had such a great time. The crew were super chilled and friendly and had a great taste in music on the playlist. Food was excellent and nothing bad to say. This is the only way to do a few overnights out of Airlie. All other boats are second class experience compared to Avatar. Side note. I did this trip almost 20 years ago when the boat was near new and so was I. It is still in great shape and I am not leaving it another 20 years to go again.
Hi Matt, Thank you so much for your great feedback, we really appreciate it! We can't wait to see you again :) Thanks, OzSail Team
The boat is terrible! Not designed for the amount of passengers. The “privet” rooms are old storage rooms turned in to beds that you don’t get any air and fill suffocated. The crew and the boat are not prepared for rain weather. The captain super grumpy. All the passengers that were in the boat didn’t sleep in the first night for the heat and humidity inside except for the crew that had aircon and fans. The 25 that were in the boat ask to go back to Airlie Beach after the first night, we didn’t finish the experience. Was terrible super disappointing.
Hi Carlos, Firstly I would like to apologise for your experience onboard our Avatar Vessel. Unfortunately, this time of the year we do experience heavy rain and humidity. We are however always looking for ways to improve our service and require honest feedback to do so. We have taken onboard all your feedback and are currently in the process of of arranging a cover/shade sail for the deck as shelter for both rainy and sunny days, we are also in the processed of looking at options to cool down our sleeping quarters. Thanks, OzSail Team

Great trip around the Whitsundays
We spent two nights in one of the six private pods. The boat is great as it offers so much outdoor space to chill and enjoy the sun. The staff was amazing too. Greg, Luke abs Marven made the trip even better. Food was delicious and freshly cooked every time. Unfortunately, we got some rain on the second day and during the second nights, which however didn’t minimise this great experience. The crew took us to some great snorkeling spots with beautiful coral reefs and beautiful and plenty fish. They also made sure we were amongst the first to be at the outlooks for Whitehaven beach to get the perfect view. We definitely recommend this trip to couples, friends or individuals. The atmosphere was great. It was no party trip but we sat on deck having some drinks in the evenings.
