Hervey Bay Whale Watch offer 2 Half Day Whale Watching tours on our purpose-built catamaran 'Quick Cat II' designed to specifically enhance your whale watching experience. The vessel was designed and built right here in Hervey Bay and features 5 viewing decks on 3 different levels to ensure uncrowded and unobstructed views. The vessel has various vantage points from right on the water line, to the third story rooftop viewing platform where you feel on top of the world

Morning Whale Watching Cruise:

Join us for a Morning Whale Watch Cruise aboard Quick Cat II for an unforgettable experience spotting Humpback Whales in their natural habitat. Our knowledgeable crew will provide fascinating insights into their behavior and characteristics, while you take in stunning views of K'Gari (Fraser Island) and Hervey Bay's waters. Look out for dolphins, turtles, dingoes and seabirds along the way.

Enjoy a light breakfast and morning tea as we explore the Great Sandy Straits & Platypus Bay - where our Humpback Whales come to play!

Departure: Morning Cruise departs the Urangan Harbour at 7:00AM SHARP!

Please note* The Morning Whale Watch Travels via Kingfisher Bay Resort, Fraser Island to pick up additional guests - then on to see the Humpback Whales and returning back at the Urangan Harbour at 12:30PM via Kingfisher Bay Resort. Extended Travel time should be expected. Please travel our Afternoon Tour if you wish to avoid this!

After your Whale Watch cruise you can disembark at Kingfisher Bay Resort to enjoy lunch at the Sand Bar. After lunch you can relax by the spa & pool, explore the self-guided walking trails, hire a stand up paddle board or kayak or take a step back and relax at the Sunset Bar at The Jetty to watch the breath-taking sunset. You will return back to Hervey Bay with a choice of catching either the 2pm or 5pm resort barge. Once arrived the Kingfisher Bay Resort bus service will return you back at the marina or to your accommodation. AMAZING VALUE!

Afternoon Whale Watching Cruise:

Join us for an Afternoon Whale Watch Cruise aboard Quick Cat II for an unforgettable experience spotting Humpback Whales in their natural habitat. Our knowledgeable crew will provide fascinating insights into their behaviour and characteristics, while you take in stunning views of K'Gari (Fraser Island) and Hervey Bay's waters. Look out for dolphins, turtles, and seabirds along the way. Enjoy a complimentary Afternoon Tea as we explore the Great Sandy Straits & Platypus Bay - where our Humpback Whales come to play! Enjoy a glass of bubbles and breathtaking sunset views over the water as we cruise back home. Relax and enjoy the peaceful moment after an unforgettable afternoon.

Departure: Our Afternoon Cruise departs Urangan Harbour at 1:00PM SHARP and travels direct to the whales and returns at 5:00PM.

Swim with the Whales - an extra $100.00 PAYABLE ON THE DAY

Do you want to get even closer to these gentle giants? Slide carefully into the water and come face to face with these majestic Humpback Whales in their natural habitat, on their terms. Hervey Bay Whale Watch are approved to offer the once in a lifetime experience of swimming with Humpback Whales, something you will not soon forget.

Swimming with whales is subject to very strict conditions and protocol that we must follow. Therefore, these experiences CANNOT be booked online and are not guaranteed.

Our team will make every effort to provide everyone with the opportunity for this incredible encounter. However, it's important to understand that as we work with wild animals, certain conditions and whale behavior are required to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

To increase your chances of a successful whale swim, we recommend booking between July and early September. After this time, mother and calf sightings are more common, which are prohibited for swims by legislation.

Please do not assume that a swim with whales is guaranteed.

*While water temperatures usually range between 19 to 23 degrees Celsius, being in the presence of a Humpback whale can make you forget the cooler water temperature.
