Arriving at the Fly Australia Passenger lounge you will be met by your local experienced pilot who will fill you in on the tour ahead.
We will board the aircraft and take off for our tour over some of Australia's most iconic and beautiful landscapes including the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef & breathtaking islands of the Whitsundays. Your pilot will also make gentle turns around the magical Heart Reef to ensure all on board have time to capture that perfect shot and take in the iconic sights below.
Remember to bring your camera, there will be unlimited photo opportunities! Flights depart from Whitsundays Airport, Flame Tree. This is the closest airfield from Airlie Beach, 15 minute drive from main street Airlie Beach. You can choose to meet us at the airport or transfers from your hotel or meeting point are available free of charge.

Amazing experience in the sky
This is a must do if you are going to Airlie Beach. The flight was great on a perfect day and the views of the reef from above are simply amazing.

Terrible Experience with Fly Australia Charter – Avoid at All Costs! The entire experience was a rip-off, full of lies, and a complete waste of money. I recently booked the Whitsunday Islands & Reef Scenic Flight with Fly Australia Charter on 14 January 2025 (14:30–15:30), and it was a complete disaster. Before boarding, I inspected the plane and was shocked by its condition: The plane was small, old, and dirty. The windows were so filthy that visibility was significantly hindered. The overall state of the plane failed to inspire any confidence in the quality of the Scenic flight. I decided I could not board the plane under these circumstances and requested a refund for the two tickets I purchased. Unfortunately, the pilot’s response was shockingly unprofessional. He was rude, nasty, and argued with us in public for an extended time before outright refusing to refund our tickets. This refusal goes against consumer rights under Australian Consumer Law, as the service did not meet the advertised standards or any reasonable expectations. I would strongly advise anyone considering booking with Fly Australia Charter to think twice. They failed to provide a quality experience and handled the situation in a highly unprofessional manner. Avoid this company if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.

The only thing full of lies is your review. Fly Australia charters is a premier 5 star company and we are proud of our reputation. There is a good reason why we are the best of the best in the Whitsundays and our hundreds of 5 star reviews and photos don't lie. You abused and intimidated our staff prior to even heading out to the plane. It has come to our attention from a fellow passenger that you bullied and intimidated them to swap seats with you because you wanted the co-pilot seat. This is unacceptable. Despite all our efforts to make your experience amazing you decided to try & ruin the trip, not only for your self but your fellow passengers as well. Every other passenger had a great flight and approached us after wards to tell us that you were the problem and not our company. Our aircraft are modern, highly maintained and cleaned in between each flight. There are hundreds of customer photos online that show exactly what we offer.

Beautiful views, disappointing overall experience
The Great Reef Barrier is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. However, I expected to have a 60-70min flight and it lasted less than 50min, from which only 5min were over the great barrier and passing super fast over the heart reef, only once per side. I felt disappointed since the pilot said that he would pass twice per side over it and he did not meet it. Besides the seats of this plane were installed at the middle of the windows in the right hand side, so my husband who is 1.85 tall could not feel comfortable having to twist his neck to see the views… not to mention that he was suffering that it was too hot and the air conditioning was not good enough. We would need to repeat this experience in a different way since we were not able to enjoy well the beauty of this wonderful place.
