A very relaxing experience - worked out well to visit after 7:30pm. Really enjoyed the heated loungers and the variety of pools. Would have been great to go during the day if you want to see the lake as well. Highly recommended!
Love the vibe and everything is perfect.Would love to visit again with my wife
The facility is beautiful! BUT! We arrived at 9:30 PM, thinking the facility closed at 11:00 PM, which would give us nearly 1.5 hours to enjoy. We were informed that pool use needed to stop by 10:45 PM, which was fine since we’d need time to shower anyway. However, at 10:00 PM, we were suddenly told we had only 30 minutes left. As a result, we barely spent 40 minutes in the pool and spent the whole time worrying about the clock. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
Hi Tanya. Thank you for your feedback. We close at 11pm which means everyone needs to be showered, dressed and on their way out by then. We start our evening pool emptying and cleaning procedures at 11pm when our night maintenance crew comes on. You should have only been asked to vacate the pools and proceed to the changing rooms at 10:40/10:45 pm though which would have given you an extra 10 minutes. We will certainly bring this up to our pool management team. We are sorry to see that this made became anxious around time instead of enjoying your soak. Hopefully you can return for a really long soak and come visit us earlier in the day.
We could enjoy the pools like private ones as we visited there right after it was open and there were still few people. I don't think the review would've been as good if the place had been crowded. We were happy to enjoy the pools almost by ourselves. It was very relaxing. We picked Deluxe Lake Spa. The rock pools looked very natural and nice. The temperature varied so you could find the one that suited you with no question. Being able to use the locker and the towels was very convenient. I appreciated the changing rooms and some showers had doors. The only negative thing I can think of is the entry fee. I feel it is a bit too pricey for what we get. We used 88Ra Café. To be honest we hadn't expected much, but it was a good surprise that the food and the service were great.
Thank you, Kaori. Visiting early can be a lovely time to enjoy the Deluxe Lake Spa, particularly before the day becomes busier. It’s good to hear you enjoyed the natural rock pools, the range of temperatures, lake setting and the convenience of towels and lockers being included. Thank you also for mentioning 88Ra Café and the service you received there. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Polynesia Spa review
My adult daughter and I had a wonderful evening at the Polynesian Spa on Friday night. We were delighted that there were not many people there, plenty of room and choices of rock pools to choose from. So clean and serene. Loved that towels and showering facilities included. I thought we would get bored and spend no more than an hour but it was so relaxing and good we were there closer to 2hours (would have stayed longer if I hadn’t wanted to get to the shops). We wish we had brought an exfoliating cloth to use in the showers afterwards to complete the benefits of the experience. Looking forward to going again next time we visit Rotorua.
